The MomCo (short for The Mom Community and formerly known as MOPS) is an international organization and local women's ministry of Lake Highlands United Methodist Church. The goal of The MomCo is to provide a place for moms to come together to build friendships, feel supported and understood, learn and grow both personally and spiritually, and have a safe environment for their children to play and learn about the love of Jesus.

 

We meet in the Great Hall at Lake Highlands UMC on seven Friday mornings each semester during the school year from 9:30 a.m. to noon, with childcare drop off beginning at 9:15 a.m. Meetings include time for fellowship and brunch, listening to a speaker on topics such as parenting, marriage, spirituality, and personal growth, and small group discussion. The MomCo members also gather outside of these meeting times for play dates, book club, moms nights out, and more.

 

Unlike in the past, beginning with the 2024-2025 year, The MomCo membership is not exclusive to mothers of preschoolers but is now open to any mother of school-aged children. Dues are $100 per semester and will be collected upon registration for the fall semester and in January for the spring semester. Additionally, childcare is available during meeting times for $35 per child per semester. Limited scholarships for membership and childcare are available.
