SUNDAY ADULT GROUPS

Sunday morning groups meet every Sunday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.  There are a variety of groups to choose from, and you are welcome to visit different groups until you find the best place for you!  If you have questions, please contact Gretel Roberts, Discipleship Coordinator, at gretel@lhumc.com.

Link to Grace (F201)

The Link to Grace group is primarily made up of people in their 30s-50s, but welcomes adults of all ages in all stages of growth as followers of Jesus. Their class discussions are highly interactive and follow along with the Sunday morning sermon series or video-based curriculum.

L.I.F.E. (F204)

A group for people in their 30s and 40s.  L.I.F.E.: Living in Fellowship Everyday.  We strive to encourage one another in our faith and to do life together.  We primarily participate in churchwide series and video-based Bible studies.

Connect (A117)

Connect is a place to connect with God, His Word, and His people. We welcome adult couples, singles, and anyone wanting to be a part of a group that believes in open and honest discussion of God’s Word. We enjoy supporting and loving each other by applying God’s Word to our daily lives and sharing life together. We also have fun serving both in and outside our church walls. Volunteer facilitators, from within our class, use churchwide studies and video-based lessons to lead our lively discussions.

Disciples (S102 Bride's Room)

Disciples Classes are led by group members and include Bible related topics, study of individual books or sections of the Bible, and topics intended to help us live our best Christian life.  Most classes start with a short video followed by commentary and discussion, and each series lasts about 6 weeks. Group members are empty nesters who enjoy watching their Millennial children build their own lives and families.  Many travel for fun or to keep up with family and friends, and attendance can be 8 to 20 on any given Sunday. Our hope is to strengthen and enrich our spiritual selves through weekly study and discussion and to support each other in Christian fellowship.

First Day (S104 Library)

A group with a diverse range of ages, consisting of individuals and couples who are heavily involved in service through various Lake Highlands UMC ministries. This friendly group of spiritually curious individuals typically focus on God’s Word as presented in Cokesbury’s Adult Bible Studies series. This class features a discussion-oriented approach that asks thoughtful questions about the Bible’s message as it applies to everyday life.

Seekers (F107 Parlor)

The Seekers are a group of couples and singles in their 50s – 70s. We seek to know God’s will for our lives as we study the Scriptures on Sunday mornings and fellowship together through social activities and service projects.

Koinonia (A119 Fellowship Hall)

Group of older singles and couples who support one another and do life together. Lively discussion-oriented group that alternates between lessons from Cokesbury’s Adult Bible Study series and other Bible and video-based studies.
